About

Experience matters here

The full statement.

When my time on the Rancho Palos Verdes Planning Commission ended, I figured I was done with public service. I was looking forward to being a resident again.

That lasted about a month.

RPV has real problems in front of it. The landslide is one. Wildfire risk is another. Then there are the roads, burglary, development, and rules coming out of Sacramento.

I served as president of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District Board, president of SoCal ROC, and vice chair of the RPV Planning Commission. I know budgets, staff reports, public hearings, and what happens when a room gets angry.

I listen first. I read the material and ask questions. Then I make the decision and own it.

I want to keep RPV, RPV. Local decisions should stay local whenever they can. My record reflects that. I have supported quick local action when needed, and pushed back when one-size-fits-all rules stopped fitting local conditions.

I am running because experience matters here. The job is difficult. It is not new to me. I know the work. I know RPV. I would be honored to serve on the City Council.
